Uncommon Ground is an international symposium, challenging perceptions about what it means to create socially engaged art today. Produced by Arts Council England and the British Council, we were asked to devise a name and engaging visual identity to represent the event and its purpose.
We came up with the name ‘Uncommon Ground’, to reflect the democratic nature of the conference, but also set the scene for a forum of debate and disruption. Our concept was developed into a bold visual language, where words, type, colours, photography, graphics and iconography mirror, juxtapose and argue.
